Seat Switch?

I weigh about 160 lbs, but I still can't hold the seat down enough to keep my new T2310 running. I've turned the suspension adjuster from all the way light to all the way heavy, with no significant difference. If I shift a little in the seat, the tractor quits. Any suggestions, other than filling my pockets with lead?

Put a shim under switch? It may raise it up into seat more.

Can you move the seat to a more forward position so when you are sitting in it, your weight is shifted to the back of the seat?

Is the switch really that insensitive? I have a Bobcat rather than blue, but I can lean hard on the seat and it is enough to start it (don't tell the safety police). My first suspicion would be an actual problem with the switch. My wife doesn't weigh 160 even with her work clothes and winter boots on and she has no problem with our seat switch.

The seat adjuster should have no effect whatsoever on your operator present switch in the seat. I believe your switch is actually inside the seat cushion rather than outside as some of the older tractors were. It sounds defective to me and I'd talk to my dealer about. In my opinion, you should have to stand up or roll way over on one hip or the other for the seat switch to open. If you try to modify it yourself, you might void your warranty.

If your dealer is pretty far away and you don't want to return the tractor for this, you might check with the service manager to see if he would let you bring in only the seat to be checked.
