Grading scraper blade ?

I would make sure before buying. Those heavy duty blades, even if compatable Cat 1, are really heavy--if they are truly "heavy duty." Your machine (knowing its size--my neighbor has one) will pull that blade if the conditions are just right, but I would have some reservations about its ability to use that blade to its fullest. Also, not all Cat 1 hitches (for example) are the same. This only related mainly to the spacing and lift height. Just because something is Cat 1 compatable does not mean it works well. My little tractor has a Cat 1 hitch as did my seven other tractors that were larger. They had thicker arms and chains, etc. My impression, without seeing the blade is that a medium duty 250-350 pound blade would suit your machine better, and if this blade is truly heavy duty it might weigh 800+ pounds which would be a real struggle for a tractor of your size to pull, except in ideal conditions.

My little Jinma will lift my 7' Woods RB-7 blade a good 30" off the ground. My Ford 861 will lift it about 24". I think its a tractor issue.

Chris, when you are hooked up to your Woods rear blade, what height do you think that the 3pt ends are at? Any chance of any pictures?

the heaviest they show is under 500 lbs (The Dealer near me has a LR-500 6' cat 1 382 LBS $ 650.00)

(update) another Dealer near by is offering a( New Rhino LR-350 7' cat 1 395 LBS for $499.00 ) 7' seems like a wide blade for a Kubota B7800

I would think that a 6' wide scraper blade is too narrow for a 50HP tractor.

We have a pretty heavy duty 7' Tufline rear blade on a Kubota L4310. Heavier is better with rear blades - my dealer told me of having to replace lighter duty blades due to crimping.

As other have posted, check your lift capacity and/or ask you dealer for a trial fit.

The heavier a scrape blade is suppose to be seems the taller the blade is which makes sense as the larger the load the heavier built the blade must be. It has been my experience those who rate the HP for those blades do with much greater belief in the blade than they should. Had a blade (no idea the brand now) rated for about a 45 to 50 hp and destroyed with a 27 hp Kubota. Have one now rated for about 80 HP King Kutter and have had to rebuild it almost totally on a 68 hp Kubota. As to lifting the blade, some Kubota's have two different attachment points on the lift arms to give either greatest lift capacity in weight or in height. Also you can normally have a lug to mount lift pins on a lower position for greater lift. If you use it to cut hard dirt, weight is a great friend.

I think the 7 foot could work depending on what you're doing. If yo're moving heavy stuff gravel/lots of dirt maybe to big. If you're moving snow it would be fine. The other question is do you have a grader box in case the material is too much for your scraper blade.

The other question is any chance you might trade up to a bigger tractor? I just sold a 6 foot and am looking for a 7 foot. I'm looking for something heavier for mine.

Not sure. I have never moved them in 700+ hours. It works fine with my BH, Bush Hog, Finish mower, Blade, and Post Hole Digger.

Here is the only pic I can find with the blade on it. I will take one tomorrow.

I just went out and looked it over. Too dark to get a picture. The lower 3 point arms have 4 holes drilled in them to accept the lift arms. It has the lift arms pinned into hole #2 if counting from the tractor out to the implement. I never paid any attention where it was because I have never adjusted it. I guess the closer to the implement its pined the more it will lift but yield less lift height.

2 of the local Kubota Dealers got back with me this afternoon 7' in their opinion is to big for my B7800 both independently suggest a Bush Hog 35-6 310 lbs rated for 35 max hp. seems like a better fit ?? the one dealer mentioned to stay away from a "low profile"

thanks for your reply Medicshawn My first tractor ever will be delivered next week. Kubota B7800 w/fel. Just looking to move snow right now hoping to spend my scraper blade $ with a wise educated decision. James River has the new Rhino 7' ask for Greg.
