Mitts instead of gloves may be the quickest solution. Thick wool or fleece inner mitts with a good leather outer MIT.

I agree. We call them "choppers". Keeps the fingers together instead of separate.

Our Benjamin Franklin said during the American Revolution "Gentlemen, we must all hang together, or we shall most assuredly hang separately." Same concept.

Careful - those good 'ol boys like to hunt (a lot!)...lol.

Well, personally, I could use a heated seat to keep my old tush warm when
plowing in Indiana winters - though, not as cold as Chippewa Falls usually is -
having spent a lot of January's and February's there. And definitely not as cold
as Fairbanks though they have zero wind; so, -40 is -40 and not -65 or worst with
wind chill factored in.

Stay warm and safe.

Check into Gerbing heated motorcycle clothing.
I have a heated jacket (that goes UNDER a regular road jacket, it wouldn't stand up to blacktop) that also has outlets at the cuffs for heated gloves.

I don't know why I never put all this on for snow removal with the tractor, I just use a road jacket and pants but don't bother with the heated stuff.
It is PROBABLY because I don't figure that I will need the heat at walking speed and 10 F as much as I need it at 140 MPH and 40 F (-:

In my case,it's my hands,nothing else. When I was young and stupid,I stayed out sled riding just a little bit too long,and ended up with a mild case of frostbite. Now my hands get cold pretty quick. I'm wondering if a cheap heated steering wheel cover would have enough "balls" to penetrate your gloves to where you would feel at least some heat.

I read the reviews for the heated seat cover,and they were all used in vehicles.

Based on my experience with heated motorcycle hand grips I would guess YES.
I have been very surprised that just warming my palms and fingers on the INSIDE of my closed fists seems to warm the whole hand even with very thin gloves.
MUCH more effect than I would have expected.

A heated wheel cover would be a cheap experiment anyway, much cheaper than heated m/c gloves, so I suggest you try it - and PLEASE report back with your findings.

Well,I did get both a heated seat and steering wheel cover. Unfortunately the steering wheel cover is too big for the JD wheel. On the other hand,the seat cover worked great......until the male plug melted on the darn thing
Cheaply made,then again what do you expect for 18 bucks. I smelled something like plastic,but didn't think much of it when you're trying to move 22" of snow. Finally noticed it wasn't working,checked the plug and found the problem. I found a really good plug/receptacle for marine applications,where the plug actually locks into the receptacle. I think that was the problem in the first place. Loose plug,bad connection equals melted plastic. When I get things replaced I'll let you guys know if that was the solution
