Gator over 300 hours without any trouble and my father has already damaged the parking brake and broken a winch cable in less than 4 hours use. Goes to show.....

So normally they make the newer model first?? Probably smart, that way they can iron any bugs out in the production line.. Where are they assibled at by the way?

Did they give you any idea of price? Are they going to offer any other cab configurations?

Thanks,
P.
ORMC They are made in Horicon Wisconsin now. They used to be made in Welland Canada. They said base price will be 1k more than a base 620I. There shouldn't be really any bugs to work out be that the chassis is almost the same as the 620. I think the hold up will be the electronics. The cab from what I know will remain unchanged.

What is going to be $1K more?

WOEII,

Yes, my dad is one of those people. I get so frustrated by him as he just does not pay attention to what he is doing. He is also an advocate of just running something unserviced until it dies then getting something else. Duct tape and cheap rope were the staples of his "shop" in the basement when I was growing up, and I have never known him to be able to fix anything that I have witnessed. My dad has many good qualities and was a good father to me growing up and I continue to respect him greatly as my father and a person, but this aspect was clearly not his strong suit. I had hoped he would take better care of someone else's equipment--but no go. Just the other day, I was visiting him (when I noticed my Gator had no parking brake) and was looking at his truck, a 2007 F150. My dad did well in his business and is in "comfortable" retirement. He always paid for things at the time of purchase. This time, though, because it was no interest, he took advantage of the Ford Credit 0% on his truck. He told me the other day that when/if he could no longer drive to either keep for myself or sell his truck. There might not be any truck left. The front bumper is caved in, the right rear QP is significantly damaged and he has innumerable scratches and dents in the doors and a cracked windshield. Mysteriously, he does not know how many of these things happened but has blamed everything from other drivers to acts of God, but never himself. He now has a pickup which he pays to requisite amount each month at no interest, but essentially has little value. I have told him I am coming to get my Gator in March, and by my calculations he will only use it about 10 hours until then--so since the JD Gator is one of the toughest pieces of AG equipment I have ever used he might not be able to reduce it to rubble by that time. Come to think of it, I might go early.......

Wonder if it will be possible to swap out the belt housing on the old 850D to the new enclosed ones? My biggest complaint about the 850D is the belt gets wet and it slips like a son of a gun.

If its just a housing that is interchangeable I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Talked with my dealer the other day.. He told me that the rumor is that Deere got a bunch of '09 orders, and the had to re-tool the line right in the middle of tooling up for the 825.

Looks like it will be more into summer before we see any..:(
