Just thought I'd point out this thread is 6 years old. Jacob probably decided on tires by now. :D

Whichever set has chains installed.
I would think chains on AG tires would get lost in the lugs and not work as well as chains on an Industrial tire. If I were to chain up I would probably just do the fronts.

I figured that, just thought it would be better to bring it back rather than start another for my question.

I bet you could have found a thread from yesterday discussing the same thing. :D It gets discussed OFTEN. :D

Good thread, have to ask an opinion..
Between the AG, Turf and Industrial tires- which is going to give better traction for snow covered pavement during snow removal?
Also in summer months I would need good traction on off road hilly terrain so have to compromise.

I like the looks of the Industrial best but worry about its performance on snow covered pavement.

Well, Matt400.... welcome to TBN! :D Please take some time to poke around and use the TBN search function on this topic. There are TONS of threads with plenty of good advice (and a lot of spirited debate as well ;) ).

After you decide on the tire type, search a bit about manual transmissions VS hydrostatic transmissions. That's another frequently discussed topic.

I have no experience other than with my Ag tires. I was concerned that I may need chains heading into this winter being a new tractor owner.

I don't need chains. My property is relatively flat so snow removal has been a piece of cake without them thanks to the Ag-1 tires.

I am soo happy. Dreaded the thought of dealing with chains for the first time.

There are more than a couple styles of tire chains that work well on R-1's. Double ring and Duo Grip come to mind immediately. Chaining front tires only gets debated here often. As long as I'm selling parts and fixing tractors, I've decided that chains on fronts only is OK for everyone except me to do.
