Hi everyone. I am new here and would like your thoughts on a situation with my new 8540. I only have about 5 hours on it but the other day I noticed hydraulic fluid on the floor in the barn. It looked like one of the hydraulic hose connections was leaking. I checked the fluid level and it didn't show on the dipstick at all. I added two quarts and that only brought it up to the bottom fill line. So I called the dealer and they sent out the repair man to fix the leak which he did. But the suprising thing was he said he had to add a little over two GALLONS of hydraulic flluid. Needless to say I was not happy that my new tractor was that low on fluid. (Sorry for this long post.) My question is does anybody think there would be any damage to the transmission or anything else from running the tractor with the fluid this much below full? Thanks for your help.
