That is correct at least on my Hot water tank. I am afraid to say that all of them do because every time I go out on a limb someone comes along and cuts it off. I f you look at the name plate it should tell you the max amps.

I thank you all for my education. I learned something new today and that's always a good thing! Well, USUALLY a good thing............ :)

I still have not gotten me a gen yet. I got my little 4000 watter started up runs like junk, about half choke. It is cold and raining and I don't feel like messing withit today. Tractor cranked up just fine. Thats another reason I want to use it's engine. Tractor allways starts and runs like a top.

Hope all the freezing stuff stays up north of me. It makes me want a generator more everyday with the fear of losing electricity for an exteneded time. Have to get my butt in gear and get one..

For all the folks that have given good information having to do with pto generators I thank you.

I took the bait. Actually required power is Head times mass flow. So pumps with flat performance curve will lose flow faster than they are gaining head and power will decrease as the flow goes down. Required power for pumps with steep curve will rise and then drop off only at very low flows.

I played nice I put a smiley face at the end. Just as you described. :D:D:D

OK Dex, I gotta ask. You know pumps, any knowledge of wells? I have a 353ft six inch cased well and am looking for a means to install a digital readout of depth to water level for monitoring purposes.

Sounds like the carb needs a good cleaning. Believe you will find some of the tiny passages plug or at least partially so.

Clean out carb and you'll be good to go

I've had times where my tractor would not start, with machines anything can happen

We use in some deep sumps that are 175 foot deep what we call bubbler gauges. you run a hose or pipe to the bottom and then pump air pressure down the hose or pipe and tee in a gauge or transmitter for your reading. The pressure at the tee will be the same as the head pressure at the bottom of the pipe. I have also seen a few submersible 4-20ma drop in transmitters that will give a signal for pressure/head. How elaborate are you wanting to go on the digital read out? Are you looking to send a signal to a computer or read what the level of the water is at the top? If you are just looking for a on/off digital feed back when the water gets below a point you could drop in a probe and install a resistive sensing relay.
