I would like to have a users review before i get the dealers "review".
No one here who owns a dong feng?
Yes I have a newer (Oct2008) DF354. Sorry been away a bit. Mine though is the manual tranny, but it is very smooth. For me at the time I couldn't get the 354 with the syncro shuttle but I think you can now in the DF404G2. I wanted the bigger 354. My other choice wwas the 254G2 with the SS.
Review wise. I love it!. As mentioned I think the DF's standard equipment and quality put it a bit ahead of the other Chineese makes. The problen is there are not near as many out there. If you have a dealer you are getting it from that would probably be the best. Again other than Arctrac (Chip) I am not familar with too many in the US. In Canada it appears there are more and more opening up, which I am happy about for future parts supply etc. If you have a chance to compare, I think you will notice a few things. The standard rear remotes are great and often need to be plumbed on others added a cost. I like the common tranny/hydraulics reservoir. You have a large capacity when running a BH direct off the remotes and not having to worry about overheating etc. The Changchai engines that they have are excellent direct injection- easy starting. They havve built in pressure relief in the hydraulics, so deadheading the pumps are not a worry. I have no issues with mine.If you are getting a loader thats not north American, the Townsunny equipment that is part of DF is excellent. I have the FEL and BH and am quite happy with both.
If you search my threads, you can see some things that have happened (the flip etc. and mods)
My photobucket site has lots of pics and mods.

Ray from here is a dealer in Alberta, but has a great site with lots of great info.
DEVONN TRACTORS
Chips site has already been mentioned
Also already mentioned about being in a hurry, I spent about 1 to 1.5 yrs to make my choice. When the right deal came up i was ready jump on it. Do lots of forum reading and lots of ?'s. It's hard to tell if your an experienced tractor man or its your 1st. Any of the Chineese tractors are a great bargin and value, but you have to know what you are getting into and make you are sure its the right choice for you.
PM me later if you want to give me some details or list a few more details about what you are looking at ..new or used etc.
Got to go, and good luck
Dave
