Wow, the Saw Mill house has tons of authentic character. Looks like the mill raceway/pflume is still under it. Can you see a water wheel?
Dave.

Thanks Steve,
I try and keep my eyes open for the interesting stuff ! ;)

Good Evenin Dave,
No the water wheel is gone but all the original foundation at the base of the falls is still there ! I will try and get some better shots of the bottom end of the house, I think I could fall asleep easily to the sound of that water runnin by ! :)

Here are a couple of shots from today, the first one is a very old home up ontop of a knoll overlooking Stony Creek harbor, I guess they used to just put an additional floor on back then rather than the cutsy little towers ! There are a number of houses in the area that have the widows walk ontop of the house !

The next two are what I call your basic McMansion ! One bigger than the n ext!

And the last shot I took because I thought I might like to put something like that on the backside of my little Vt place ! ;)

That old house with the gables and the 2nd storey porch has more character than the Mcmansions IMO.

And that sawmill house is very cool, like to take a tour around there.

Scotty what are you getting for oil this week? I just got a delivery of 525 gallons at $2.80/gal.
Close to $1,500. kinda tuff on an underemployed gutter cleaner :(

That just about topped me off, so that's what I've burned since early September. For the customers you have on auto delivery, what is the average amount delivered during these coldest months? 150-200 gals?
I'm just trying to figure if I'm about average with my consumption.

Good Evenin JB,
Today the price was $2.699.

The average 3/4 bedroom colonial around here seems to burn about 175 to 200 gallons every 3 to 4 weeks. Of course the real frugal people that wear a number of sweaters and heavy socks get by with a bit less and our older clients burn more !

The Mc Mansions burn heavy, but you would expect that, wouldnt you ?

Im including another angle of the saw mill house, and hopefully in the future I will get some nice foundation shots, quite cool actually !

Im also posting a couple of pics, of some architects place, probablly the same guy that drew plans for some of the cutesy towers in the area !

I only hopes he knows how to unfasten his house when the polar ice caps melt ! This place looks like something out of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ! ;):)

And of course the day wouldnt be complete, without another cutesy tower !

Gosh, I forgot all about the rains, we were just north of the heavy rain. I think it hit mostly south of us. We had maybe an inch or so here, but the winds were pretty high. I expected us to have freezing rain and power outage, but nothing at all.

So far it has been a very easy winter for us. We have about a foot of snow on the ground, but nothing to worry about.

We drove through Vermont yesterday, upm 89 and there is little to no snow up there. Cold though.

Scotty, I like checking in on your thread. I've never been up Northeast as far as you guys live. I like to see the "rural" side of places and an "oilman", or around here they're known as the "propane man", gets pretty rural at times. I like the saw mill place as well. I'm not too fond of Capt. Nemo's place though!:D I'm more for the place next door! If I was his neighbor I'd be a little peeved! You seem to be getting pretty good at snapping these pics on the run!
