Still cant get end cap off

I just posted looking for help remoing the end cap off my JD 4300 430 FEL. I found this other post with a picture of my cylinder. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/129790-how-do-i-take-my.html. In the 1st picture its the cylinder on the left. Anyway I made a wrench to unscrew the cap I thought. I got it to break loose but all it does is just spin. Anyone have any ideas what going on.

I believe there is a wire that you will have to remove to get the cap off.
It can be a PITA to get it out.
You may have to find something to push it out.
The ones that I have removed had a tail sticking out that you could use vice grips to hold onto.

There is a retianing wire...You have the older style cylinders. You need to turn the cap till you see the end of the wire, then get a pick under the wire as you turn the cap to start the wire out of the hole. Search the term "wire" in the hydraulics forum.

The threads(s) have helped me to understand the inner workings of the cylinders on my 430 FEL on my 4300. So far they are holding up well.

Yeah...remember I told you there where two different types?-you never gave me an answer to what you had.

Anytime you can post a picture of something like that it helps a ton! With a couple good pics, a lot of us here could have told you exactly how to disassemble it.
