New TYM T293

Not sure I understand the question. What rpm is it measured at? They don't elaborate. These are peak numbers, no?
t273:

t293:

For pto hp to be meaningful, it should be quoted at 540 rpm (or 1000 rpm on some of the bigger tractors, or both speeds) because that's the limiting speed on the implement(s).

Most tractors do not obtain pto speed at max rated rpm; it's somewhat less. I have a Ford 4610 and rated speed it 2200 rpm and pto speed is obtained at 1800 rpm. The pto HP quote at 540 pto rpm(1800 engine rpm) is 46 hp and the engine max hp is 62 hp @2200 engine rpm.

I have had a problem with a lot of the TYM specs. I think they throw a lot of numbers around with out using them correctly.

Gotcha....

I think it's more language barriers than anything. They seem to mix up numbers. Who knows...but after reading the manual they didn't spend a ton of time on them.
Seems they should have hired a US firm to translate for them.

Boy was I glad to see this thread. The closest dealer here sells Montana, McCormick and TYM. As someone real new to this tractor business I have decided that the TYM offers the best warranty and the packages are pretty good, but I'm torn between the T-293HST or go up one to the T-300 model line. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I should add that I only have five acres of desert landscaping to take care of which is driveways, garden and raw Arizona land.

Hi,
new around here.

With my 273, where more revs would matter is travelling on the road. Anyone here found the bolt yet that limits the 273 to 2700 revs? Where is it?

Tipsy as usual.

Yes there is a limiter screw on the pump that has a lock on it. You could cut this off and adjust the screw for higher RPM's but it would void the warranty. Probably a adjustment screw to turn the pump up to add more fuel for more power but I have not looked. I have done this on older ford inline pumps.
