In Dakar rally Kamaz runs NO stock production. Like Ginaf & Co Kamaz also builds 50 tailor made race trucks to legislate them. Kamaz race trucks have very few things in common to stock production trucks - in general heavily upgraded engine and drivers cab, the rest is combination of russian and non russian components from other producers. Those guys earn great respect with their fanatism and what they manage to get from a rather limited financial funds.

Ahh so Kamaz cheats too ?? So thats why Tatra doesnt keep winning race after race, as they did throughout the 80's...

(Couldnt help the pun: I like Tatra better, because of the ingeniuity of their truck concept

..To be honest, Tatra uses the Deutz V8 in production trucks, but i dont believe anyone would buy a 4x4 version of it... Those are stock components, just an odd combination.
However Ginaf stuffs a Cat C18 in it, even though ALL their production trucks use the DAF (Paccar MX) 12.9 liter engine... Only the cab comes from their production series.. The independent axles come from an airfield crashtender...
