Finally I mounted the new tire chains. It was very easy after watching the You Tube video for Trygg chains, although mine are only 5 mm, 33 pounds, and made by a different manufacturer. I had to cut 4 cross links but everything went smooth and easy. Probably 1/2 hour each, cutting included and under a light snow. I tried them and they seem to work fine. Four wheel traction is occasionally necessary.
Now I'm considering a logging winch, Perhaps a Norse.

I just got and fitted my euro style chains... here's a pic taken before they had some links removed to fit better. I'm curious what yours cost?? Mine work well, but more tractor wieght would be good, at least for slippery snow conditions. I found I needed to tighten them several times as I used them and they settled onto the tires. Now, they are tight and seem like they will stay that way.

Mine are for a L3830 with R4 17.5Lx24 and are expensive. $730 with shipping via UPS. Delivery was extremely fast. I chose these because they are so light. They are not for heavy use and hope they will last. Are made in Norway. The instructions said that they must be loose very loose. I have loaded tires.

I'd be interested in a link to the website where you found them. I got mine from tirechain.com, and found them to be very helpful and responsive, as well as quick.

I was curious because I had spent a lot of time web crawling, trying to figure what to buy, and then actually finding someone who had something left in stock to sell! Plus, my turfs are likely not a common sized tire for many chain suppliers.
