Mowing What Size Bush Hog/Mower

I have a CK27 gear. What's the best size rough cut and finish mower for a tractor this size?

A good rule of thumb is 1' of mower for every 5 hp, so I wouldn't go any bigger than a 5' deck w/ a CK27. Then again, Kioti offers a 6' mid-mount deck....

i did'nt think they offered any size deck other than a rear finish mower.

A 5' bush hog and a 6' finish mower is the major concensus.

Sorry - I thought you could mount the KMR03-72 MMM if you had the optional mid-PTO

2-3 PTO HP / ft for a finish mower.
4-5 PTO HP / ft for a rough cut mower.

We usually mount 72" rear finish mowers and 60" Rough cuts on the CK27 Tractors. Depending on the application requirements, they run these decks very well.

KIOTI doesn't have mid-mount mowers for the CK Series Tractors at this time. That may change.

I have no issues with my 5 footer but this really depends on what you are trying to cut and how fast you want to move. I can stall the mower at slow speeds if cutting heavy, wet, dense, head high grass. Usually I could handle an 8 footer while simply knocking the top 8" off of sparse, dry, field grass.

A 5 footer will be as wide as the machine and that's what you want to prevent catching a wide mower on trees and to prevent missing the grass that your wheels knock down.

I can't wait to start mowing.
