Hi. What are you using the 5083N for? I'm considering that model for a vineyard I'm developing in North Carolina and would need the narrow profile. Thanks.
Well, the good news is we specifically purchased the tractor for our vineyard that we are starting. The bad news is I typed the wrong model number on the thread. I actually have the 5083E, not the narrow tractor that they say is specifically designed for orchards. The other good news is you don't need the narrow model for a vineyard. Almost all resources will tell you to plant 8-9' apart on your rows which will allow the 5083E to navigate quite well being its only 6' wide.

Is that the Adina that's located between Beaukiss and Blue? If so, we're not too far from each other. And there are other fine fellows onboard here that live in the area.
That is some great looking equipment you have there. I hope it does all that you need of it. How big of a vineyard are you going to start with?
I have thought of one myself, especially after visiting Napa and Sonoma areas. I know they take time to establish. Do you have a plan on how to water them in the summer?

Kyle, Indeed it is the area you are referring. I noticed a few posters from Paige and Giddings. As for the vineyard, we are planning on 4-5 acres to start and pickup more property depending on the success of this. As for irrigation, we are planning to see how it goes. Where we are, we get enough rain for grape requirements. However, if we do get another dry summer like we did last year, we'll put in a well and install a full drip irrigation system. The good thing about grapes is they don't die off without water. They just hold back. Great for next year, not so much for the current. So we will see as we go. We do have a monitoring weather station that we have had out here for a couple years. It has helped in the planning.

Yea, we live over near the airport. Are you having to clear the land to prep it? I wouldn't know where to begin to start for a vineyard. There are a few that do it on this board but I don't know of any around this area. I know a young man who was trying to get one started but I don't think he had the time to devote to it as he had a brand new baby soon after he planted.
