OK. Then how much does your trailer weigh? Chains and binders (150 lbs), fuel (80 lbs), plus whatever else you have on there (implements, spare tire, extra fuel). So, unless your trailer is under 1500 lbs, you would not be legal, nor safe.

I'm planning on removing the loader when I take it to mow the fields I have lined up for work. That'll save me the extra weight keeping me legal. Don't get me wrong I'd love a 10-12K trailer it's just not financially possible quite yet. But untill it is i'll have to just deal with pulling the loader off. Backhoe will be off anyhow so that's no biggie.

5400lbs is the total weight of the machine including loader and backhoe. Yes I know its better to have counter weight in the rear when using the loader. The only work I have lined up for the machine is mowing with a brush hog. The machine weighs 3500lbs and the hog weighs 600lbs. Thats 4100lbs, The trailer weighs 2050lbs. Subtract that from the 7K and my payload is 4950lbs minus say 100lbs worth of chain/binders. So I'm still well within the abilities of the trailer and not overloaded. I have no intent to ever load my tires so that's not an issue either.

According to the Kioti website, your tractor weights 3668 (HST model). Add 600 for bush hog, 200 for chains, binders, and fuel gets you to just shy of 4500 lbs. That's within your trailers limits, I agree.

Over time you'll probably want to take the loader with you, along with a few other things. For that reason, I'd start looking for a bigger trailer. You could probably sell yours and pick up a 10K one for almost a wash money wise. Of course, you might have to hold two for a few weeks until you sell the 7K one. I recommend a 20' trailer: more room allows you to get better weight balance and will tow with greater stability.

I don't have the HST which is where I got the 3500lb number. I'd love to sell one to get the other but I also use it for all my mowers and such. I've been looking at 18' and 20' trailers but there just arent any 20' for sale near me. 18' are far and few between. I definitely cant afford a new one. So I'm stuck here in limbo until the right deal comes around.....16' are selling for $1500 but i don't want one that short.

Trust the specs from Kioti.

I wish you could. I have seen weights for the DK35 in official Kioti
docs ranging from about 3600 to nearly 3900#. Two recent brochures
I have here show 3727# for the DK35SE with gear trans. 3666# for the
HST.

I have seen official weights for my CK30 to be anywhere from a low of
3058# to over 3300#. They never say with or without a full diesel tank.

It is tougher to find real hyd flow specs.

OK then, within reason trust the specs. Specs would be very close to the real weight but certainly not 9,000 pounds.

I know what you mean. I looked and looked everywhere for a trailer. The cheapest new ones seem to come out of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi. I finally found a 20' 10K trailer new down in SW Virginia, near the TN line. I paid $2300 for it. Best deal I could find cause a used one just wasn't around. Best local price I found was $3200.

Yes, and 20' is big. I gave away a small 5 x 10 trailer to my uncle. Wish I had kept it for lightweight towing.

Have you tried using www.searchtempest.com for Craigslist? It let's you search all CL's with X miles of your zip code. Pretty nice when looking for something specific and willing to drive a couple of miles to get it.

No I've never used that website before. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Chevy 292- where are you located, I would take a 16' for $1500 for my CK20HST. They are not that cheap (excuse me- inexpensive) here in CT.

Sounds like you'll be fine with no loader and the lightweight hog only. If you're within the specs then tow. I believe that there is plenty safety margin built into the ratings already so I have no problem using a trailer, especially one you already own, right to the max allowed.

I would not brushhog without a loader. Especially in unfamiliar areas. I always set the loader bucket down as low as the machines undercarriage to warn me of stumps, rocks, cars, and even so that if your front end falls into a hole that your loader might prevent a rollover. I've shoved many downed trees out of the field with the loader.
