Duragrader vs Landpride vs Grade Master

The company is in south Mississippi and I'm in central MS. I've been trying to buy a grader from them since January, 2010. They do apparently have a lot of problems, so I am going to look elsewhere. Probably will go with a Handozer or maybe a DR unit.

Bubba, what town are you near? I would give some thought to finding a good welding shop and ask them to give you a bid for one. If I were still near McComb I now I would do that for sure.

Landpride's an extremely well built line of products. I used to call on them as a customer; good products and good people. They're built about 80 miles north of Wichita. Does their website list their dealers?

While the Land Pride graders are built very well, they really can only be considered light-medium duty at best. They just do not have the size (14" sides) or weight to be considered medium-heavy duty in my opinion. This does not mean that they will not work good, just that a heavier blade usually works better.

Right. And it's more than just a back-order status. At this point, regardless of how nice you think grader may be, I believe it would be very unwise to attempt a purchase from them. In my opinion it would be particularly reckless to send them a check.

Jackferguson, if I had your Kubota, I would be looking at either a 72" or 84" heavy duty road grader blade.

I know that it would be a lot of work, but what about picking out those over sized rocks?

With your help I've decided on an 84" heavy duty blade. Regarding the rocks, I would probably need a rock picker, which is quite expensive. A rock rake may help but I don't have one of those either and would have to make another purchase. I have picked some of the largest, 6" and up, by hand. Otherwise, there are more rocks than there is me.

I have a 60" Landpride grader/scraper that I pull with my JD320. I have found it to be a great tool, it's a no brainer for grading the gravel drive- just drop it flat and make a couple of runs. It took out the wash board and potholes I've been struggling with my box blade to fix without trouble. I also just used it to prep a seed bed around our shop. I have a hydraulic toplink which helps adjusting for leveling dirt and removing the old grass that's there and it worked very well for leveling out the area. The scarifiers on the Landpride aren't of much use to me- but I do use them from time to time. I haven't used by boxblade since purchasing this implement. The disadvantage- it doesn't quite fit my quickhitch (Speeco type) and I had to modify the hitch here and there, still is difficult to get hooked up.

Thanks for the advice.

Clinton, outside Jackson. What I'm looking for is something I can pull with a UTV, mostly for grading a gravel driveway. They happened to advertise something like that but actually being able to deliver one is a different story. As much trouble as I've had just trying to purchase, I would expect a nightmare if I needed any service.

I just found one a few days ago at the local kioti dealer -- "armstrong ag" -- never heard of 'em ....but for $750 it does the job. I added weight to it and may add a bit more....but it did my drive just fine. When I'm done I'm going to have around 3000 ft of drive so was definitely in the market. I was looking at duragrader real hard til I read about their problems here....then when I found one just 3 miles from the house and cheaper than what I'd been seeing....no brainer. Even if it isn't built as well ....for the price...I can fix or replace as req'd.
