MF 135 playday

lol I understand the joy rides. I suppose the water jacket where the temp sensor screws in could be clogged to where water is not flowing over the sensor. Should be pretty easy to confirm by just pulling the sensor back out and see if water is present. I guess if water is present, then it would have to be something with the sensor or guage itself. I would think the guage would at least move alittle just from the heat of the metal in the motor even it water was not there. Maybe the line is kinked somewhere? Is your sensor in the same place as in this picture? One of my next projects is to get a more solid oil pressure guage setup. The chicken poop type I have on there now is a disaster waiting to happen. Things have changes since this picture, it was right after I got it running again after a rebuild of the block. Got a picture of yours to post? TB

I also have the Perkins diesel on my UK135. Really have to work it to get the temp. to come up. I don't know if these things had a thermostat but running around in the winter it hardly registers.

I had a 1964 MF135 for 25 years with a Perkins diesel. This motor runs very cool. As with mine the temp needle hardly registers in winter. Almost impossible to overheat unless the radiator is plugged with chaff and even then the temp gauge only registered halfway. The MF135 with a Perkins diesel was and still is an awesome tractor.

Ditto. When I bought my 1964 MF-135 diesel in Jul06, the temp gauge barely moved upscale, even with more than half of the radiator airflow passages clogged with years of debris. Took me a day to clean up that mess.
