The backhoe owner called me back this week - apparently it did not sell at auction. I passed. It was going to cost me an additional $1500 to install it with a 3pt mount.

Does the owner still have it. If I am interested

Bigger the better and the four point mount too. Had a 3 point mount, 7.5' dig.
You end up moving way too often with a short hoe. Sold that rig and bought a Bushhog 850 for my L4350. Got a deal on a brand new last years model. Kubota orange too! I'll have to modify the frame that comes with it but it should be no problem to do that. I'll try to remember to take pics.

A friend had called me about an ad in Craig' List and gave me the phone number. I did not see the original ad. About 10 days after the ad was published I had a chance to call and the owner (not a dealer) quoted $2500 saying that would be the reserve if he took it to auction. He was out of town at the time and when he got back he checked and found that he had advertised the unit for $3500, when we talked he upped the price to $3000. This was a new unit on the pallet but no warranty.

We don't do business that way in Texas, His original word was $2500 and that is usually taken as binding. I would have to purchase the 3pt bracket and the hydraulic package plus install a power beyond loop on my tractor. I was able to budget $3000 + a little more for the job but not $500 in addition.

He was to take it to auction today so I wished him good luck and to call me if he wanted to deal at $2500.

97tacma: I have no way to know. Search Craigslist for Austin Texas. It appeared a week or two before my first post.
