Well, I had to break down and buy a new steed for the farm. We have a 2.5 mile driveway up over a mountain and we got totally hammered with snow this year ( 21+ ft. !!) The 2000BD just couldn't keep up with the snow and it didn't have a much needed FEL, just a blower on the rear. It was getting a bit ran down and had quite a few issues. But I sold it to a fella that is going to do a total tear down on it over the spring and have it running as good as new.

I called Messicks and bought a spanking new Kubota MX5100. It is quite a bit larger and is more suited to handle my driveway and farm tasks. I enjoyed using my Yannie and the simplicity of it very much and wouldn't hesitate to buy another in the future.. SO, I guess I am getting the boot from the Yanmar section and have to head on over to the 'Bota section....

no boot! just sad to hear you could not keep the 2000BD to compliment the Kubota. Any day I work with my tractor I surely wish I had a second one rigged for the other tasks. Swapping implements does not take that much time, but is a PITA. Jumping seats would be much more fun. I to need a larger tractor soon, but will not part with my 1600, way to handy and a work horse to boot!

I hope your new Kubota serves you well.

Welcome to 'Bota world:thumbsup: Glad you got here as soon as you could:D

If I had to do something about 21 ft of snow and 2.5 mi of mountain driveway, think I'd hunt for some big time help too!! Big deal here this year was the about 2.1 inches of snow we had... first time in several years we had any...things closed down, school let out... everybody got excited:laughing:

So, your community shut down for a 2.1 inches of snow? Sounds like it was a full scale blizzard down there !! LOL. :)

Yeah, the driveway is a long one but it is well worth it to live in peace and solitude.. I called 3 different Kubota dealers right after the second big time snow we had in less than a week ( 40 inches or so) I told them that the first dealer that could get me a MX5100 to the bottom of my road I will buy it on the spot. Messicks is 3 hours away but they actually made it there on the snow covered disaster of a highway the very next day !!! Took me a bit over 2 hours to walk the 2.5 miles down the mountain to get the tractor!!!

OH, MY, YES... big disaster... I was out in that horrendous situation ....driving along in my 4wd 4 runner (in 2wd) on the interstate at maybe 40mph and some other well traveled local roads... saw about 5 vehicles in the ditch.... I did notice that I was the slowest person on the roads, except for those in the ditches..oh, wait, they weren't on the road, so guess they don't count:laughing:

Man, sounds like it was a disaster area !! You should have taken a good long chain with ya and made some bucks pulling all the bone heads out of the ditch...

Yeah, it is quite a ways ... Of course I don't own the whole thing. There are 2 coal companies up over th otherside of the mountain that used to maintain the road but since the pulled out i get the pleasure of keeping it open year round. I don't mind though, Just means more seat time....

Best of luck with the new unit, hope it gives good service. You have a tractor so that makes you ok in my book.

Good luck with your new tractor. Ive debated that someday when I get a new larger tractor if i'd keep my Yannie or sell it. I think I'll keep it. :p When i get my simplicity tractor running, I will have 2 tractors so i will finally be able to tractor hop.:D:p Even though i have an imatch on the yannie already.:D
