Don't most compact tractor manufacturers recommend a subframe when using a backhoe these days? Last I checked (several years ago) Kubota had a beefed up top link bracket, for use with a backhoe, but the other "big name" manufacturers would void the warrantee if you used a 3PH backhoe. These tractors just aren't as beefy as they were a couple decades ago...

well its fixed. a couple of my friends and i tore it apart and replaced the broken clutch housing and welded the block. looks and feels like it will hold.

a couple of things that i noticed is that the block is bolted, cast to cast ,
by only 6 bolts.

when i took off the fel and bh it released the cracks and the tractor did not want to move. guess the attachements are the only thing holding this tractor together.

i was told to look for loose bolts or egg shaped holes and there were none.
rember we are talking 387 hours on a 4 year old tractor.

good news is that the dealere was good to his word and gave us cost on the clutch housing.

we did use 10 gallons of hyd oil to get the system back up to speed but i decided not to reuse the old oil and risk contatimoniton.

i will post the pictures as soon as i can been working long days and have 3 jobs scheduled for the tractor.

I know this is an old post but I noticed the reference to 1715 and frame mounted backhoe. I'm curious what loader and backhoe you have. Reason is that I have a 1700 with 770 loader and 758 backhoe & subframe. I'm toying with the idea of buying a lower hours 1715 with mower and turf tires, which I need, and selling the 1700. What I can't figure out is whether the older 770 and 758 are a "bolt-on". Does anyone know what the interchangability is? I've seen 770 and 758 listed as "A" and "B", but mine have no letter designations that I can see. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

well that didnt take long block broke at weld again and were high and dry
still no help from nh just kinda sitting on the problem for now see other threads for more updates.

Sorry for the delay guys, been really busy with other projects. Long and short is, my dealer rebuilt the tractor to better than new. It runs great, and worked phenomenally well all winter/spring/summer. I have been striving to be extra careful with it though, I really do not want to have this similar kind of problem ever again.
