Greatly appreciate the knowledge gained reading the various posts, comments, problems and experiences of owners.dealers etc. Gives me a sense of Mahindra as there is very few Mahindra tractors here in Canada yet. Thanks for any input.

I know little about Mahindra products. I can tell you that within the last 3 years there have been three Mahindra dealers set up within a 20 mile radius of here, two of them within 8 miles of each other, although in different states. Seems they will sell a sign and contract to anyone with the cash. I'd be looking carefully into that aspect of the proposition.

Not trying to be harsh here.

I would think if you're wanting to lay out the cash for a Mahindra dealership you are going about this backwards. I don't think the bank would be looking for an answer of "I asked on TractorByNet" when they ask you about your business plan and why you think you can make a go of a Mahindra dealership.

You need hard numbers and facts about Mahindra, not opinions. If you just read through all the threads you'll get what you're asking for here.

Just my opinion....see, there ya go.

I have talked to Mahindra and have the dealer package info. Talked with Mahindra dealer here in Canada for his experience with Mahindra. Continue to develop my business plan for the mix of products suitable for the area here. However I am aware some of the posters on this site are dealers and/or experienced business people or persons with considerable experience with good and bad dealers. I believe that the combined knowledge base here is not to be undervalued. I search for opinions and idea's to broaden my vision. This is a great website and well worth the time to research and discuss. Appreciate any and all comments. Thanks all.

Nice post.....
I just read some of your other posts....You seem like the guy who buys a F150 to do a F350's job and then gets frustrated when it keeps breaking.... Of coarse it not your fault.
The manufacture should have know better.
I guess the best thing for you is to get rid of the Mahindra and get the Branson or Kioti.
Just a little heads up I was a Branson and Kioti dealer and ya they break also.

Sorry to everyone, but when someone wants to posts multiable post bashing a brand it rubs me the wrong way!

My dealer had Kioti before going Mahindra. They didn't regret leaving Kioti at all. I say if you break a Mahindra, it's too small for what you are doing. That is why I went with a 6520 and have not regretted it.:D It will do everything I ask of it, except clean my house.:(

If you do open a Mahindra dealership up there, please remember it is good friendly service that brings customers back.;) I bought my Stihl chain saw and Huslter zero turm mower from the same salesman that sold me the Big RED Beast.

For what it is worth, I have a friend that has a Mahindra dealership and another friend that has been with Mahindra from the start. I also have next door neighbors that have had no problems with their Mahindra and they have multiple operators and can be pretty rough on tractors and equipment. All the feedback that I get is Good. Excellent way to get good advice from other users and dealers on TBN. 6 posts from a new member and he already knows enough to pass judgment on an entire brand.

If you have a problem, post your own thread and ask questions. You may be surprised how much help you can get with a little mutual courtesy.

Back OT....

If you want to be a successful dealer, I think being able to service the tractors you sell is the #1 rule. If you are up to date on the common problems and are willing to share info with others (ie TBN), and are handy with the fixes, you can do well.

When I walk into my local dealer and ask about a quick disconnect for my tractor, or ask about adding additional remotes, they look at me like I have three heads. I bought my filter there last time because I needed it right away.

I'd likely order online next time, because I have little confidence in the dealer's knowledge- even of his current line. If a dealer won't take the time to learn his product line, it's likely I won't take time to drive to him.

So I'm suggesting that if you want to become a dealer, please take the time to learn your products well. We tractor users respect dealers who can help when we've run out of options or need parts.

Good luck.
