2011 Superduty are out! ! !

That sucks. Autos are nice, but there is nothing better than rowing gears sometimes.

With 6 speed trannys, locking torque converters, and the durability of today's trannys you could not give me a truck with a manual. Especially doing what I do pulling 15,000# to 25,000# boats out of the lake on a slick boat ramp. Been there done that.

I know many guys who were die hard gear slammers until they got a new truck, say 2005 and up with a auto. I bet 9 out of 10 of them would never go back.

I would seriously consider it for a 25% improvement in fuel economy.

The F-250 Lariat earned both the "worst value" and "worst safety performance" distinctions from Consumer Reports this year. It received an overall score of just 37 out of 100 points for predicted reliability, fuel economy, depreciation, ride, owner costs, accident avoidance, front-seat comfort, acceleration and owner satisfaction.

i think they use to charge almost 2k more for the auto as well, for me its just plan fun changing gears. I also like when you clime hills, put in a gear and forget about it with the auto its down shifting up shifting all the time.
I know the new autos are a lot nicer now but you could go a lot further on a manual than an auto before the auto need to be rebuilt. and i don't know about the rest of you but i can change out a clutch no problem but i sure don't know how to rebuild an auto trans.
of all the cars and trucks i have never bought a NEW one with an auto, and have only bought one used one with a auto and that was my wifes Mountaineer (and only because they didn't make it with a stick because my wife wanted a stick as well)

I like gear jammin' but light duty trucks with manual transmissions aren't geared for work anymore, especially reverse. :(
I had a 2000 f150 with a 5 speed and the reverse sucked, it backed up way to fast. Was hard to stick a trailer between my house and shed with out riding the clutch a little.

Let's see, it's April and the 2011 is out. Oh heck, I'll wait 'til September for the 2012s.

Heck; by December the 2013's may be out!:confused2::confused2:

In any case it don't make no difference to me. I'm stuck with a 14 year old beater that has to last me the rest of my life.

I guess i don't understand your post, they are a fail because you looked at one and didn't like what changed, are you just blindly putting down the new truck because you don't like ford, or was it getting late and you were just trying real hard to find something to post about?.

The Leather seats look a lot nicer, they have a full console that went all the way to the dash and it had 6 cup holders on it. Couldn't see much more that that on the inside.
The hood looks much nicer (my wife said it looks more manly). the front bumper had a step on it, will make it easier to look at the new engine. It also has nicer looking fenders, and headlights. The Front grill is awesome the ford logo is about as big as a billboard.

has nothing to do with ford..

I dont see the point in plush leather seats in a full size truck that based on its size should really have only one job... a work truck. (after all its the SUPERDUTY!) The idea that a vehicle that size should be used as a daily driver and therefore need "plush leather seats" is a fail IMHO

a console with SIX cup holders in it? seriously! wth do i need SIX cup holders for. instead put something useable in that space, like an inverter or more storage or SOMETHING other than SIX cup holders IMHO fail wth do you need SIX cup holders for?

the fact that hood line sits SOOOOO high that you have to have a built in step in the bumper just to reach something like the oil dipstick is fail. if the hood lines keep moving up at the rate they are we will all be sitting up at semi truck height and be pushing 10x the air out of the way. not like the ground clearnce got any taller, not like its rideing on 35" tires and 6" of lift, they just decided to keep pushing the fender lines up because it looks cool. nothing like trying to drive a brick down the interstate at 80mph. mmmmmm gas millage...... FAIL!

you may like driving around with a billboard for a logo for the brand you drive, but IMHO its nothing more than "hey look at me" sign on the front of your truck. IMHO fail because instead of being able to distinguish your product as distinctive based on design or looks, you simply plaster a "billboard size ford oval on the front"

Again has nothing to do with brand specific ford, infact many of the other brands have many the same issues which is why virtually all new trucks (and cars for that matter) do NOT appeal to me. Which is why you wont see me buying one. Thats right, i do speak with my wallet.

on the other hand, something that is bucking the above trend is the new mahindra truck which is the first "new" truck to come along since my 1994 toyota that has got me really interested in finally getting something newer....

Wow, 50k or 60k is a lot of money for a truck. I drive a pickup everyday but I just can't see myself climbing into my 55k F250 with leather seats after work with sawdust and crap on me. I thought trucks were meant to do work. I think I will stick with my two cup holders. The payment would be more than my house payment. Plus my customers would think they are paying me to much.

If The Superduty is out, then how about a nice Dodge Ram..........

True. I had to put mine in 4WD-Low to get a reasonable backing speed. Slow backing speed is the nicest thing about an auto tranny.

Well, for those of us who pull camping or horse trailers on long trips, a nice interior is attractive. We actually find our C-3500 more comfortable for long trips than the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If I have to buy something expensive to get the hauling ability I need, I at least want it to be comfortable.
