My wife and I were driving down a local rural road the other day and saw this. I couldn't believe what I was seeing - it was about a 16' to 20' wood ladder in the fully elevated bucket on what appears to be about a 40 hp Kubota. There is another step ladder beside the tractor to give him access to the bucket. Sorry the pictures are so bad, cell phone was at quite a distance. I don't know where the old boy was that owns this wind generator system, but I do know I still can't believe I saw it. I pulled in, no one was home. For all I know, the ambulance took him to the hospital???? A couple of days later, driving down another local road, there was a gentleman driving about a 50 HP green tractor, with another gentleman and a kid in the bucket, trimming the apple tree - on a hillside. I guess they trust the stability of their rigs more than I trust mine.

That's just good ol' country ingenuity !!!!

There was this limb high up in a big oak that needed to come down. I had the loader up as high as it could go with an aluminum ladder reaching even higher from the bucket. Started the chainsaw while in the bucket, started to climb the ladder and THEN, Reason took hold. Shut off the chainsaw, got back in the bucket, lowered the ladder to the ground, and waited till a tree trimming crew was in the area and had them lop it off for me. More the chainsaw than the ladder setup, Wood a better choice.
ANY accident is just a split second away!

To me, whats funny is some guys have the Mojo, they are willing to do some pretty dangerous stuff, and never seem to get hurt. While others do things with safety in mind and make trips to the E.R.

I did this a lot while building my house. Funny thing is I'm scared _____less of heights. It really isn't that big a deal, just about as safe as getting into a cherry picker.
