I have a Ford NH 1520. It has a FEL and BH. Currently the hydraulic mainfold valve screw is set at setting (2) for operating the auxiliary equipment. The 3PT does not function at all. The manual says to use the 3PT I need to set the hydraulic manifold valve screw to (1). What does this do to the FEL and BH? Do I need to remove these to use the 3PT (obvoiusly, I would need to remove the BH) or can these be locked into some position so they don't just fall to the ground?

Brian.....

I would check with your operators manual. If you do not have one I myself would put everything on ground and make sure nothing will get damaged, and have to try it.:D Watch very closely with 3ph to make sure it does not run in to anything on hoe. I would think you should have some form of transport lock for the hoe.

If it was in the manual I wouldn't be asking about it here. I will have to try it and find out. I thought maybe someone had some prior knowledge. Thanks.

Ask in the NH forum, this is definitely a specific question about your machine.

If you have a power beyond style loader control valve and it is set up correctly, the loader and 3PT will both function when the backhoe is disconnected. Attaching and connecting the backhoe will disable the 3PT. No need to change the diverter valve position when the normal factory connection methodology is used. You don't say what brand of loader or style of loader valve you have, and I can't see it from here, so that's all I can tell you.

Re-post this question in the New Holland forum and you should get a pretty quick reply. All of these tractors have their own liitle "tricks" and I'm sure a NH owner has had experience with this.

The loader is a Du-Al 105 and is set up with the power beyond feature. I will have to try unhooking the backehoe lines and see if the 3PT works. Thanks for the information.

If it is set up like a NH loader, disconnect the PB line from the loader control valve to the backhoe and re-connect it to a port on the diverter block. There should be quick couplers in the proper locations if it was installed properly. You will not ahve to move the diverter selector spool. Do not start the tractor without having the PB line connected to either the hoe or diverter block.

That could explain this set-up that I did not originally understand.

The top line is from the FEL control stick and the ohter goes to the BH. I am assuming I disconnect this and hook the FEL hose to the connection on the manifold (that pipe sticking out with the quick connect) and unhook the other hose from the BH completely.
