Im saying that if the OSHA approved roll bar fails and someone gets hurt.
The liability would fall on the insurance company of the roll bar maker.

Just as the guy with the welder in his garage with the homemade rops.

I have spoken with an attorney about this already, this is why we buy the OSHA approved one.

Im done with this subject, as its a no brainer.

So that would be like saying for instance a friend borrows your truck.He has the same identical truck and gets in a wreck.Couldn't stop fast enough to keep from hitting another vehicle. He tells the owner what happened and the owner states he just put new brakes on it using the same Approved parts.The owner wants his vehicle repaired and the no longer friend tells him no because he did a poor job on the break repair.Oh and his back Hurts.He will be sending him the Dr. bill.:confused:

Welcome aboard Bud. :D Not all topic degenerate like this one has. There are a lot of pretty clever guys here on the forum and not a few dealers that help people out with advice and suggestions. The final decision of course is yours.

No sweat! I've already learned NOT to ask questions here! It won't happen again.

I've already arranged to have some bushing made. Since I was also a machinist I'm sure that shouldn't be done, either. Wish I could have bought them but I AIN'T going to open another can of worms here! I've requested my name be deleted from the forum. Y'all have fun now -

anyone have a good source to buy a ROPS at a good price or should I just fab one?

I was a pipe welder, millwright & machinist, then worked as a turbine outage planner for 15 years for a power company in NC -.

I only mention you could build one because you said you had experience in welding, so I thought you have the skill to build it your self, I would not had suggest this to anyone not knowing how to fabricate/weld :cool:

*n's dont need a roll bar as much as these narrow yanmars. 8n's are twice as wide and a little wider in the widest tire position, and look at the size of that rear axle All that is low weight. The 8n' weighs more than twice as much as well so it should hug the dirt better. Build it if u got the knowlege of welding and fabing and know that your welds equal the metal strength. dont do it if your a hobby welder or never built anything just fixed stuff that tore or broke.
