.... The US and Europe do not have Malaria because we used DDT to wipe it out...
Darn good thing we still use DDT in this country to keep malaria at bay.....we do, don't we?
Chuck
I suspect malaria to be controlled by climate in vast parts of the US and Europe instead of chemical stimuli.
Um, just for the record and to present the other side. DDT was banned because it kills birds and bats which eat millions of mosquitoes. It also gets in the water and food supply easily and poisons human beings including babies. It has other problems too, but those are the major ones. This is fact. Check it out yourself.
I have checked it out.
From the articles I have read DDT does not harm people. Also the science was very mixed concerning DDT harming birds and other animals. Some studies said DDT did harm bird shells but other studies said the opposite?
If thousands of children were dying in the US every year, and these deaths could be prevented or minimized by spraying DDT, do you think we would have a spraying of DDT?
By the way to minimize the spread of malaria DDT can be sprayed inside dwellings.

As a child in Mississippi 60 yrs. ago I breathed in not telling how much DDT as crops were sprayed...was and would be again a very effective control not harmful to humans..Same thing with Chlordane for Termites..house treated with Chlordane have no termites to this day but in about 1986 or so it was outlawed and now termites thrive...Kinda makes you wonder...follow the money always.
