How does the parkig brake work on a BX? Is it like a car parking brake, with friction... a shoe against a drum? or pad against a disk?

I forgot to release the brake (again) and did a bit of mowing before I realized it was on. I would like to know what is being worn or damaged when this happens.

Thanks

They are disks inside the rear differential. They have to break down the entire rear of the tractor to replace them. Ask me how I know...

I just got the tractor back, $70 for the new brake disks, they warranteed the labor- It would've been over $800 for the repair if they didn't warranty it.

If the brake pressure feels okay on the pedal you're probably okay. When mine failed, the pedal went all the way down before you felt any pressure.
