Jim,

Yeah, I think that if there are so many rattle snakes in the area that you need signs, that's not a place that I want to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are the first guy ever to go on vacation to Amarillo. Of couse, from your vacation pictures of rest stop bathrooms, I can see why. :D:laughing::confused2:

:D:D:D

We went through Amarillo quickly, only stopping at a McDonalds to use their wireless internet. We are heading up to the Portland area to visit grandkids and then down the California coast and back through Las Vegas.

I was thinking that kids could have some real fun at that rest area. They could stand behind the door as people approached and shake a baby rattle just to see if they are brave enough to come inside.

Wife was telling me about a black snake found on the golf course a few days ago... said it was huge... I told her they can't hurt you and are our frinds. She could'nt believe it. Snakes in the Philippines are much worst... hit a ball in the jungle... take two stokes.

Eddie

Not so, the second.:D

Amarillo is the home of the free 72 oz. steak, that is, if you can eat it ALL.

Big Texan Steak Ranch, Amarillo, Texas

If you can't eat it all the meal will cost you $50.

They have a special table where everyone can see your attempt.

Funny thing about Amarillo...I grew up in Mansfield, OH...lake effect snowstorms. However the worst snowstorm I have EVER ENCOUNTERED was on I40 in Amarillo.

I know some of you folks are paranoid weenies, but come on... do you have to shoot every snake? Can't you just take the initiative to learn to identify them and let the non-venomous ones live? I can see if you have chickens or rabbits or some other little critters that the snakes may be preying on, but otherwise, it is just sad to see people blasting them for the sake of blasting them. Kinda disgusting, really. :(

The one in the photo was endeavoring to creep up on a Bluebird family in one of my nest boxes. I like Bluebirds.

Me too. They are tasty.

Just kidding. Put an inverted cone of galvanized steel on the post like the state parks and highway departments do. That will keep the snakes out.
