I am looking at their L10 tankless hot water heater for my cabin. It hooks up to a regular grill propane tank. Has anyone used this kind of hot water heater.
Thanks,
Chip

Looks interesting! Not too sure how long it would last on a 20 pound tank? Do you have 30 psi at your camp? What I have found with our system is that when the in coming water is really cold the hot water temp is a bit low. During the warmer months though it provides plenty of hotwater and makes winterizing a real easy job.

I went ahead and put a bosch 125FX in our camp and it provides lots of hot water, but has a higher BTU rate and required a auto vent system on the exhaust side.

Do you have the Bosch piped into a large propane tank? I have no other need for gas so that is why I was looking at the Ecco.

The most common remark I hear about the Tankless Heaters is that they use more fuel than expected. A BTU is BTU. One BTU is what it takes to raise one pound of water one degree. You can do the math. 20 gal of propane will not last long unless you are taking spit baths. The economy gained from them is mostly in down time. They use nothing while setting but use all but a few percent of what any modern heater uses when in full tilt. I would plan on a bigger tank, or several small ones in stand by.

I have the L5 I use at my camp. Works pretty well but can be a little difficult to get water temp "just right".
Unfortunately over the winter some rodent built a nest in it and I'm not sure it is salvageble...big mess, apparently rodent urine is very corrosive..:(
I don't think I'll buy another as I have a 6 gallon RV water heater unit I'm going to switch to. I have no commercial power at my camp so all is 12v, LP or generator produced AC.
