~~~Is SUDT being phased out ?~~~
Went to my Kubota dealer to get 15 quarts of it yesterday for my BX23 .
They only had 13 quarts .
And aren't stocking only a few quarts at a time.
I will be needing another 24 or more quarts of it for of the 2 BX1500s before too long.
I have gotten the SUDT there for the last 5 years and this was never a problem before.
What would you do in this case ?
I usually buy it in the gallon jugs did you check that stock its usually
cheaper too
If you need that much buy it in 5 gallon buckets
People with certain frailties or disabilities likely prefer the quart size for easier handling. I assume your particular dealer is fussy about stocking quarts, although, I have no idea why they would. I am sure most people buy gallons and larger. That's the only reason I can think of. Tell your dealer to get a case of 24 in ASAP. Pick it up in two weeks?
Is he going out of business and doesn't want to stock anything???
2.5 gallon. Goldilocks. Not too big. Not too small. Just right.
I wish all brands of hydraulic fluid came in 2.5 gallon containers. Seems the perfect size to handle. 5 gal buckets are heck on the back.
I've been getting S U D T for 5 years at my kubota dealer .
The other day I wanted 15 quarts .
I bought all the SUDT he had in stock which consisted of 2 1 Gallon Jugs and 5 1 quart bottles for a total of 13 quarts thus leaving me 2 quarts short .
1*I bought 2 1 gallon jugs which is all he had in gallon jugs.
2*He didn't have any 5 gallon pails.
3* HE didn't have any of these .
4*I have a 5 gallon pail to sell for 89.00
*Doubt that .
I graduated with his brother in 1959.
Our class has a monthly luchen get together and I've asked him when is his brother going to retire from operating his Kubota dealership and he says his brother is making to much money to do that.
No there is some type of supply issue right now for SuperUDT. I called three Connecticut dealers yesterday and all have had it on order for over 3 weeks. As I understand it, none of the Kubota distribution warehouses in the northeast have it available right now. One dealer said Kubota had a dealer special for SuperUDT so maybe they sold out? I was lucky to find four quarts at a Kubota construction equipment dealer (they only sell the Excavators and RTV's).
I only wanted enough to replace whatever I might loose on my Grand L 50hr service (no full hydraulic fluid change only filters at 50hrs). I understand you only loose a quart or so if you swap filters quickly;). I sure hope that is the case. The filters did not show up in the mail today so I will do the 50hr service next weekend now.
Kubota excavators don't use it. That's probably why he had it ;-)
I just bought 13 gallons of SUDT for my L3940 from MacAllisters Kubota in Indianapolis, I bet they had at least another 25 gallon on the shelf. Philip.
Went by Wowco the local Kubota dealer on the east side of Houston today. Said they don't even carry the Supper UDT any more. According to them it is for the cooler climates.
The UDT was $55 for 5 gal.
Most dealers place oil orders quarterly from what I've been told, maybe they
just ran out early. I tried to buy some CaseIh Hy-Tran back in the fall from the
closest dealer and he was out said it would after the first of the year before he got
anymore. So we drove to Union Grove, NC and bought it there. I like some other
are limited on what we can pick up, I'm currently limited to 15# so gallons
work well for us.
Dug out my receipt. Purchased March 28, 2010
Paid $43.03 for 2.5 gallon of SUDT
BP,
Where did you get it for that price? The best I've found for 1-1/2 gals is $54.38 plus shipping.
Kubota markets SUDT in 1.5 gallons? Never seen that. Do you mean you priced 6 quarts for 54.38? Perhaps that was just a typo?
Local Kubota dealer, Ginop's, just outside of Traverse City. As a customer, I do get 10% off, but it still doesn't explain the difference. Your price is way, way too high, it seems to me. The shipping of heavy fluids doesn't make sense to me due to the high cost.
You could use Amzoil synthetic for that kind of money. I would also price Case/NH or John Deere's BEST UTF. You know those products would be top rate.
It was a typo!! I paid $54.38 for each 2.5 gals container plus shipping online which is high!! I bought four 2-1/2 gal containers .
Take care,
Jim
For me there SUDT is too high priced for a blended fluid...There are better products for less.
