New JD 5045E arriving Thursday!

First tractor and all I can say is WOW, you can sure get a lot done with the right tool! Had a blast on the first day, cuttin' some fields and first runs with the box blade. Not much time today so I will try to post more later this weekend. Do have a few pics.

Great looking tractor, glad you didn't waste anytime gettin' her dirty. How's it feel pulling that MX6? What type of grass/brush are you mowing with it?

you forgot to get the free shade top? On the big day of signing your supost to tell the salesman that you want the top added for free or no deal. anyway it seems to work for me. how did you decide which HP version to buy of this 5 series tractor?

Funny you mention not wasting time getting her dirty. As soon as the delivery guy rolled it off the trailer and was gone I took off on it and was cuttin' some fields. I don't even have any pictures of it new and clean. What a knucklehead I am, oh well...

I cut two separate fields about 5-10 acres each that are basically just overgrown grass, multi floral rose, honeysuckle, and some 1" saplings. Some of the multi floral rose were 6-10 feet tall. It handled it without a problem. The biggest problem I am having is trying to figure out how high to set the cutter so it doesn't bottoom out on some uneven ground. This is my first tractor so some of this is just going to take time for me to learn my my mistakes. I am also doing a lot of reading on this forum to find advice from others.

I was originally looking at a smaller JD CUT and after many conversations with my JD salesman and many hours reading on these forums I decided to move up in size / hp to the JD 5045E. So far I am extremely pleased with my decision. My first 10 hours on it have been extremely productive and it has handled everything so far without an issue.

Nice tractor . That one is just like the one I have except with the new numbering system. Mine is a 5103 with the same loader too , but I have a set of forks for mine. Have fun with you're new toy .... Bull

I am looking at the same tractor. the dealer quoted me $19,000 for the tractor, $5,000 for the quick connect loader and I can get 0% for 60 mo interest. Is that in line with what you got. I hope you dont mind me asking, I just was curious and saw that you were a car dealer and didnt think you would mind. Thanks.
