Tiller Anyone used 3 pt. 4-6' rototiller on a 8n Ford?

I can't imagine that it would work well. We run our Kubota HST just creeping along a good bit of the time.

The 8N's are great tractors in their own right, but just not the tool for this task. They do alot of things well, but they also have some short falls that you can't look past.

while they are good and sturdy.. the ford like from a measly 3ys later does tend to run out as a better line. the 55-64 4 cyl machines using the ohv engine make more power.. are just as easy to work on.. the gear trannies are similar ( 4 spds practically the same ).. the ohv engine breathes better than the flat head.. they have nice features like live hyds, and options like live pto via 2 stage clutches..e tc. more hyd capacity, easy provisions to add remotes, options for power steering.. and the list goes on.

I'd take a *6* over an 8n any day.. and they are usually the same money. I'd take an NAA over an 8n any day.. and the 55+ are better than t he 53/54 naa in many ways due to axle design and some hyd upgrades.

It's no problem. we understand.. you like the N.. nobody says you can't like them... it's just that many of us have BTDT and got the tshirt. I love the 2 bottom dearborn 10-1 plow on my N.. but I'd never waste time or money on a tiller for her. However my 8spd 3000 does a bang up job with my stepfathers 5' tiller...

i know all about the different model fords since i was a ford dealer for 25 years but i was talking about a 8n not any of the others but the moters it the naa and 600 series are bad about craking the head if it gets just a little bit hot i have sold about 6 heads in the last 3 months for them never have sold a head for a 8n

I don't sell em but I do buy em and collect them... while I do have some other colors. 99% of my collection is ford.

as for making a statement about what I thought or didn't think about somebody elses' knowledge of a subject.. that's just plain rude.
