Grading/leveling: rock bucket w/ teeth vs box blade

Well said!!!!!!
Yes, I will have to agree that it is well said and that a Power Trak looks like quite a useful tool. Especially when your tool box is full. As with anything you really have to use something before you can determine if it is for you or not. What sort of dollar investment would one have for a complete Power Trak tool box?

KentT,

Thanks for the great suggestion!

One of things that I love about TBN is learning creative ways to get jobs done.

Thanks!!!

All the best,

Peter

If you use a 3-pt for a heavy boxblade on the front, I suggest that you make sure that stay chains/stay bars are VERY tight. You don't want that amount of weight shifting side to side when you have the boxblade raised up in the air -- I can curl mine and raise the back of the boxblade about 7 to 8 feet high. I've used it like that to grade down the slope of roadbanks and smooth them out, so that it's easier to keep them mowed without hitting stuff...

You have to define your chores before you buy your tools. ;)

With over 40 factory attachments available and the ability to adapt just about any 3pt implement ever made, the sky is the limit.

Talk to the guys here that have/had conventional tractors and see what they say about why the Power Trac is better at some chores than a conventional tractor. Power Tracs are not monster pullers, so they do not excel at things like plowing fields. They will flat out run circles around conventional tractor in chores like mowing lawns, uneven, rolling terrain, brush hogging, front end loader work, fork lift, post hole digging, trenching, snow plowing, to name a few.

And because of the quick attach feature, you actually look forward to changing implements many times a day. That is something that no one wants to do with 3pt equipment. I think I showed you some videos of the quick attach in action. If not, click on my little animated tractor in my signature and that will take you to my website where there are many videos of my Power Trac PT425 in action.

This is what I did as I developed Loader Buddy. However I am impressed with the versatility of your Power Trac. I can see the appeal to the homeowner with many small to sometimes medium sized chores. I still think you would find Loader Buddy useful. What is the weight of your bucket with the toothbar?

Less than 100 pounds. I can pick it up and carry it around in my garage.

My large material bucket is twice a large as my small bucket with teeth. I think that weighs a bit over 100, but I can slide it around without any problems either. I frequently pick up my pallet forks and carry them around in my garage as well. They are probably only 70-80 pounds, I'm guessing.

Lackendar Fabrication made my (and I think Kens) 3pt adapter. I should have thought the thing out and had a hydraulic PTO built into it.

But the thing has a hard top point and side points (nothing loose). Works quite well.

Do you have any pictures of you adapter? Okay...I guess I should do a search first...so ignore if there's already a thread about your adapter. :)

Ken,
Thanks for the pic. That looks pretty nice. This box blade deal is looking like it could get expensive!
