Yeah, I just went from the loader valve where the supply comes in from the hyd. pump. It all went from there ending back it where it goes into the supply for the 3 point lift.

I just spent a few hours read this whole thread. Way to go mega me. Very informative and educational. Gives me a little more confidence to tear down the old 4000 I have. Once get a place to do it.. I have a garage, but right now it's so cluttered I have to go outside to change my mind.
I do have a couple of questions.
First what kind of camera do you have. Ya I know not tractor related, but I'm curious.

Second. Just how hard was it to get that nut off using the home made crows foot?

My camera is a Kodak Z712 IS. I'm really happy with the quality of pictures that it takes. My Dad has both same camera and some brand of a SLR camera. He states that the Z712 IS takes better quality pictures than his more expensive SLR camera does.

That sleeve came right off with the homemade wrench. It was snug but it broke loose easily.

Well, it looks like I'm due to do the same job on my TC24d. I did a bunch of rototilling and on my home from dropping off the tiller I stopped at a friends house where Betsy dropped a lot of oil on his driveway. It's coming from in between the block and tranny. I appreciate the work you did on this post, I remember reading, so when it happened I wasn't overly suprised. I have almost 900hours on my machine. We'll see how it goes.

Out of curiosity, did you ever get a dealer cost for the job?

Dave,

I caught mine early and was able to tighten up all the bolts with a good dose of lock-tite and have been lucky enough to stop the leak. It has been about a year if I remember correctly.

But I did check with my dealer, they figured 8 to 10 hours labor plus parts. Told me probably in the $600 range.

My TC24DA has been leaking hyd fluid at the case for a couple of years now....last hydraulic fluid change I added some Lucas Oil Hyd Stop Leak and the leak seems to have stopped (for the time being). I've checked the case bolts and mine are not loose but my tractor has the quick release frame mount underneath for the 756c Backhoe attachment. This might give the tractor case more support or rigidity?!?! However, I'm sure it is just a matter of time before "splitting the TC24DA" is in my future....provided I own the tractor when it finally craps out!

A friend of mine has the same TC24DA model year and when his FEL stopped working as the result of lost hyd fluid and pressure he took it to the NH dealer for the same repair Mega & TC Boomer have shared here on TBN. $2500 and a month later he got his tractor back....it's leaking agin now after only 12 months! Thanks for the post...it will save many people a lot of money in the long run, I'm certain!
