Cub Cadet Dealer??

Anyone know of a Cub dealer out there that gives good pricing, handles shipping, and works from a distance like Barlows Kubota?

I figured there has to be someone out there! Not many local dealers that will bargin around these parts!

I've had great luck with a few Cub dealers. R.F. Houtz out of Elburn, IL. Talk to Rob. 630 365 6551. Gene's power equipment out of Coleman, MI, talk to Greg. 800 404 1521. Henry's service center out of Springfield, IL 217 243 5400, talk to Ryan. Tell em Frank recommended them! Have bought several tractors and ordered parts thru all of them, all great to deal with.

Frank would never tell you this but he claims to be related to all three of the dealers he mentioned. He has convinced all three of them that he is their illegitimate son in order to extort great pricing from them. I guess it works out pretty well for him - at least until fathers day rolls around! :laughing:

You need to take that hat off for a while, crawl under your tractor and check around for loose bolts. I'm discovering that is very important on our 6284's (see http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/cub-cadet-yanmar-cuts/168739-important-maintenance.html ).

I don't know how much of a problem loose fasteners are on other brands and models, but I am sure discovering lots of loose stuff on my tractor!

The problem is the shipping. Distant dealers in low overhead locations, centrally located, (like Arkansas) can provide great prices, but the margins don't have enough room to allow discounts large enough to offset shipping if more than a few hundred miles.

Dealers working with older inventory can offer much better pricing than new inventory.

I just bought a $100 carb rebuild kit today at my dealer for $40. I guess that's what they sold for when he ordered it.

I'll definitely do that, I've been paying attention to your's and others postings regarding this. The Cub's have been sitting idle for a few years now, but I'm moving to Ohio this week, already been working my 5234 with mowing my "field" that is supposed to be a lawn.....

Rinehart's in middle South Carolina will put a package together with a very good price; much like Barlow's with Kubota's.
