yea but most people that ownes one thinks they can paint it with a paint brush and make it worth more than if they just leave it alone which they would be better off just leaving it alone and i have sold them that had a show worthy paint job and new tires for 3000 and i sold the one in my avatar for 3500

I go to Church with a fellow Deacon that bought one 10 years ago for $3500 that had been restored to the max. He used it to mow the 1 acre yard with a RFM. It just sold at a consignment sale this spring for $1200. I was not there to bid on it and I have been sick ever since. I mean, I had no idea he was even interested in selling it. Ken Sweet

It was, The restorer even took a lot of the bolts and nuts off and painted them yellow and black where it looked the best. Ken Sweet

thats how i like to buy them when they are restored right i cann't stand it when people paint them blue are paint them with paint brushes thinking they will get more money ever on the newer tractors i found its best if u aren't going to do it right just leave it alone cause all u will be doing is hurting it value

when I bought my 8n it looked like it had been hot dipped in plastic it had so many thick ( brush ) paint layers on it.

I sanded and stripped on that thing for a MONTH to get down to the shiny stuff.

I would have paid a few hundred bucks more for a nice patina'd metal and just remnants of oem paint..

I call them 'auction paint jobs' or 'dupont' restorations. :)

the worker people like the alternators.. etc.

looks to be a nice 'core' for a restoration.
