The "Almost made it" thread reminded me of two years ago. Literally mid-pour of my new house's foundation. One way in, one way out. More trucks waiting down the drive to finish loading the pumper.

Eventually, all worked out... but it took some talking to get these guys motivated...

Yes... it was FULL!

New rock, new dirt, made for a soft shoulder across the culverts. Everyone said that driver was one of their best... so it was an unusual accident. The driver said he caught some glare in his mirror... and before he knew it, he was tilting over.

Ended up emptying his truck then pulling him out.

His rear diff was sitting on the ground in that picture. I thought for sure he was going over. What a mess that would have been...

Cement truck drivers certainly can have an exciting day.

I wish I had pictures, but I don't.

Driver was delivering a load to a new house being built close by to where I live. There had already been several loads delivered for the basement pour. Anyway, driver starts back the lane for his delivery, the next thing he knows the front of his truck is GONE. It was a front discharge model. He hit a peat bog and that was it. The cab was below grade. The used two Tow Trucks and a medium to large sized Excavator to retrieve the truck. Had to dig out a massive amount of earth to build ramps for it to be pulled out and up. They used the Excavator to keep it from further tipping over while the Tow Trucks winched it out. It didn't look promising for quite a while, but they finally managed to free it.

"So Honey, how was your day at work?"

What a day indeed!!!!! :confused2:

I've always wondered how they would deal with it if something that heavy got stuck. I guess the lesson to be learned is be careful and don't get stuck in the first place.
