OT: I have an entire shovel in my Septic Tank anyone want to come fish it out? :anyone:

BTW: I wouldn't sweat it I don't think there's any way it going interfere with the fuel outlet.

I was concerned that it might disintegrate into the gas and mess up the fuel system.

is it gas or diesel? Gas may be a problem, but I dont think the diesel would be..

the only time I think it would be a problem is if you let the tank get low enough that the cap blocked the pickup tube..

You can come get the 3/8 Craftsman ratchet out of my well too. I hear they are lifetime warrantied so rust won't be an issue.

What harm could it possibly do floating around in there?

I know that this is a fuel tank but I've had two different instances over the years at work where those plastic filler necks fell into hydraulic reservoirs...one guy went thru 3 $2000 pumps on his log loader truck before it was found by us......and another guy was quoted $2400 for a new pump on his JCB BH...when we checked it out we found.....you guessed it, a filler neck stuck in the inlet deep inside choking the oil flow....there was nothing wrong with the pump......

my point is that I would not leave it:2cents:

I'd syphon the tank and drop a small lightbulb with a cord down there and use one of those flexible gripper thingys.

Thanks to all for you comments. I do plan to try and get it out one day, a project for a rainy day maybe. :)

I would try to get the fuel level low enough to jack the opposite side of the tractor to get it to float over to the filler neck and reach in with pliers or a "picker up thingy" of some type and move the fuel around enough to create a "current" to bring it within reach.
