Help Identify This Intruder

I have had a black rat snake eat a small chicken and they like the eggs too. I usually just relocate them.

You ever seen a snake that has went inside the chicken pen and eaten a fresh egg and couldn't get back out thru the wire, that becomes one angry snake :confused2: ....... Have you ever caught a chicken held its head to the ground and drawn in the dirt a curvy line? you must start at its head and draw the line away from the head, That checken will stand there looking at that line and will not move a muscle, it is literly scared stiff of thinking the line is a snake..... I used to make good $$$ betting i could make a chicken stand still Now I know you want to go try this

I have shared my shop on the farm with snakes for years..they leave their skins behind all the time..they come down at night like deepNdirt said..I have never seen a mouse or other rodent in my shop...I never kill any of these critters unless they try to hurt me or mine. We coexist and keep things in balance.

now that is funny---- hmmm.. I wonder if I could really get away with being that mean to a friends chickens...

On the old driveway we have named 2 portions of it... (it is now an ATV trail)..
First there is copperhead corner.. 2 copper heads killed, looking for babies now.

Second, there is rattlesnake rock... saw him sunning one day- I was fixing wash damage and going down the hill towards the rock when I saw him, and when I got by there on the tractor he was gone----

Possibly a garter snake?

I have a lot of black rat snakes around the house and welcome the sight of them. If they're in the way I just move them.

Some are friendlier than others...
