Sprayer FIIMCO Directo Valve not working

55 g FIMCO 3 pt boom pto sprayer. Have not used the sprayer in over a year. Cleaned, flushed and winterized after last use. Went out after lunch to set it up for some spraying this week. Put some water in the tank and began to check everything out and test run it. The Directo-Valve is stuck open, so the unit sprays, but it won't shut off the flow to the boom. Moving the handle has no effect, even though I can see the pin moving in-out. I tapped on it with a screwdriver handle several times hoping to break it loose.
I've looked at the valve diagram. Maybe can take it apart tomorrow and look for the problem. I see FIMCO has a repair kit for it.
Just thought I'd ask for help here before calling the FIMCO tech tomorrow. Maybe someone here has had the same problem. Thanks.

Looks pretty simple to take apart. Might be gunked up in there.

Got to thinking...even though I cleaned the unit per the manual last use, I probably should have worked the valve in-out several times while flushing. Being I didn't do that...you might have it. Thanks.

Pulled the assembly out this morning, just the clip holding it in. It was very clean. Everything looked good to me, nothing broken or scratched. I looked inside the body with flashlight for maybe a scar or crack, but it looked clean and smooth. So I called the FIMCO tech, described it to him, he suggested the repair kit($21.00), so they're sending one.

From experience after winterizing keep ball valves half open/closed if practical. Fully closed or open will tend to "freeze" a valve more readily.
