newbie from downunder

Hey all my name is pete and I am from victor harbor in south australia.I stumbled across this fantastic site while researching building a logsplitter.I googled pictures of home made logsplitters and the first site link I looked at bought me here.It has been a cold weekend by our standards so I have spent many hours as a guest wandering around all the great posts here on logsplitters.I am not very computer literate and have a lot of trouble posting pics.At chainsaw collectors forum I am able to email my pics to an administrator and he adds them to my posts.I should mention woodturning,chainsaws,and DIY as well as sourcing timber are my hobbies.The chainsaw addiction is relatively new but before I die I am determined to understand the workings of these little beasties.I have been collecting bits and bobs towards building my splitter and have heaps of questions to ask ,but I hope I can contribute something positive as I go along so chers for now.

Any when you get to posting pictures... Some south sea pics would be nice anytime!!!

It's easy. Just type whatever you want in the dialog box, as you did with your first post. Then scroll down below the "Submit . . ." box, in the "Additional Options area, you'll find a box with "Manage Attachments". Click on that and you'll have a new box or window pop up. Click on "Browse" and find the picture on your computer and either open or double click it. You can then "Browse" again, if you wish to add another picture. When you have the one(s) you want, click on "upload", then after it uploads, close that box or window and click on the "Submit . . ." button below the "Manage Attachments" button.

If you get an email from TEG or Bird in the next little bit about your picture tax, it is just a scam... I think we've had a low volume of pictures in the last couple of weeks and TEG is going thru withdrawals....

he just needs input.. err more pictures...:thumbsup:


and yes we do try to have good laughs here..

I'm rebuilding a "project" log splitter - I should have had quotes on "rebuilding" since it's just sitting in the driveway :ashamed: Just have not gotten around to posting a few questions before I try it out... Welcome to TBN.
