Just got off the phone with the dealer.... I expressed my concerns, and we ordered up the JD weights. He does not order them from the link posted in this thread. He said he has never had one not work. This is a small shop and I believe him, but I also would like the JD stuff.

Its probably stupid... They are just weights.... But at this point, the tractor I am ordering costs more than my new truck. I want it just right.....

I also learned that my MX6 will be here in a few weeks, the loader on July 21st, and the tractor is set for August 15th.... The MX6 does not suprise me, but i would think JD could get the loader and tractor there at the same time....

Cant say I totally blame you...If it makes you feel any better, I often refer to this quote when I'm debating things:

It's unwise to pay too much, but it's unwise to pay too little too. When you pay too much, you lose a little money.....that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The Common Law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot...it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better.....

Good quote Dave.

I was looking at the R1 tires on the 4x20 and there is not much room for weights... I need to leave them in the stock position for the crop rows... I hope I can sneak 2 of them per side without much showing....... Anyone done it?

Can you put them on the inside?

I guess he didn't tell you the loader is coming from Mexico huh? Most don't unless you ask, that's the hold-up on loader parts now. My dealer told me the JD loaders used to be made in Canada, but are now being produced in Mexico; maybe you'll get lucky and get a NOS loader that was made in Canada (but it will still be coming out of Mexico, since New Old Stock loaders were relocated; one of JD's better ideas). I would be more concerned about a Loader that was manufactured in Mexico failing before I would worry about the wheel weights.

I know its not apparent from my first post on these, but I am not overly happy that my dealer wants to use these weights. We hammered out a price and it was not until I said "OK order it" that he told me about the weights. Last night I was trying to go to sleep and thinking about this situation.

Maybe I should save my money and go with these weights, but I will never know.

I can't imagine why you should be unhappy with your dealer for GIVING YOU THE OPTION. You describe him being upfront about the choice, not passing off aftermarket weights as OEM and pocketing the difference. THAT would not make me 'overly happy'.

FWIW I have had no problems with wheel weights from Northstate sales, but I have had issues with their suitcase weights.

Have you experienced a major quality issue with Deere loaders coming from Mexico?

Mine is a Canada version, maybe someone else can chime in on this one.

I tried knock off weights - they didn't fit worth a dang. I have JD ones on there now.

A pair of 110 lb plates per side.

I would go R1s if I had to do it over. Here are how well R4s clean themselves in our conditions.
