Here are some pics of wooden tractor modifications. Bucket forks, chainsaw and chain racks and a cant hook holder. So far everything is working as required. Scrap 2x4, 3/4" plywood, construction adhesive and drywall screws - cheap.

when i was a kid, the family had a camp on a dirt road. the guy who maintained it had an old grader setup with a wood edge. the running joke was that we the road was good, he must have put a new 2x6 on.

It's good to learn to utilize what you have on hand, that wood might not be your first choice but it gets the job done.

Modify, adjust and improvise....a country boy can survive.

BRILLIANT! Creativity at its finest. May I copy some ideas?

As an aside is that saw a Husky? It looks like it. Ever have an issue with the gas leaking around the cap? All of sudden, second saw, and I am leaking gas.

LBrown59, really like the back hoe mod, simple but effective.

I am with you on the wood mods. Check out my post in the "attachments" section under "sun-shade". Wood has a much better strength/weight ratio than steel or even aluminum, which is good for keeping center of gravity down on top-mounted attachments, and ease of mounting. I also made some wood fork extensions, which I use quite often to lift the cap on and off my pickup with the loader. I aint a bad welder, and have made my share of steel attachments, but wood definitely has a place.

I can hardly wait to see these show up on Chinese made tractors and implements. They'll paint them to look like steel.
