Am I an Internet Paranoid Schizophrenic?

My Mrs. has had me working on here computer all day to day...I installed a Mallware program that just found 176 infected files and I am still not finished..This is the first virus, trojan etc. infection we have had and we have had computers and been on the net since it was invented by Al Gore..LOL...We have McAfee anti virus but this slipped through..

So do be careful...this is not fun and even after deleting the 178 malware items found we are still having problems so I am running a new and different virus scan ( AVG ) I hope I win...I won't give up but I can tell you I would like just 1 minute alone with the one that infected my Mrs. computer. All ideas appreciated.

J - That is mighty nice of you and I sure appreciate it, I may just do that if it looks like this thing is going to get the best of me. The thing I am most afraid of it her passwords and banking info...sure would hate to have the crooks get hold of that..Thanks again.

I wouldn't worry too much about posting stuff to the internet. At least you have control over what information your releasing. just be discreet.

It does pay dividends to check up on yourself, though, try searching your name, address and other "meaningfull" infobites about yourself.

Unfortunate, your local government and even the fed, probably posted more information about you than you realized. That's probably more damaging than a pic or post.

why would they do that? I'm no criminal havn't had as much as a speeding ticket in the last 20 years, maybe 1 ticket 21 years ago, but I paid the fine back then :thumbsup:

Then you have nothing to fear, but fear itself :laughing:

Just keep on being a good citizen and only innocuous stuff about you will find it's way into the public domain.

I think it all begins when your parents register your birth, apply for a Soc. Sec. card, register you in school, (all those grade reports and test scores), then you register for the draft; (I guess that still happens), perhaps attend college, you marry, buy property, etc. etc.

Your only true hope of anonimity is to start all over with a new, clean identity - or several :laughing: Then never work except for cash, spend only cash, don't use a phone or internet. Never own property or register a car. In short, you may not exist in the normal sense.
