A lot of people don't like the mess involved in maintaining an oil bath filter. I for one think they do an excellent job of trapping dirt and other matter. On top of that a cup of oil is much cheaper than most paper filters. The two working in conjuction with each other as you pictured would be an excellent option in my mind.

All you need to add is a cylone precleaner to it and it equals or surpasses a dry cartrige unit.

Oil bath air cleaners are nowhere near as clean as paper filters, but are cheaper to service. No matter what system you use, a cyclone or foam precleaner is a good idea in dirty conditions.
