How long is the warranty on new Kubotas? Power train? Electronics?

So unless I am missing something, the central computer would not be covered after two years then it seems. (L5240)

Anyone have a different take or experience? (33 months in at this point)

I have heard that the rule is "if it keeps the tractor from moving, then it is powertrain," at least that is what my dealer said. Does your main computer keep your transmission or engine from working

Consider me the first I suppose. ECU was bad. Beyond 2 years. They said not covered. Unfortunately, there is another problem also. Evidently something created a chain of events to kill the ECU. At least that is what they suspect.

I'm new to tractors and to this site. I'm also not a mechanic or engineer like many of you. So, if I'm missing something or about to say something dumb, be kind. But, did you check out pages 13 through 15 of the warranty booklet Davatk referenced? I'm assuming the engines with the "kW" are Kubota generators. If that's right, it looks like your computer has a 3000 hr or 5 year (whichever comes first) warranty.

To set the record straight, you turn out to be correct. The ECU was not bad. Their test was faulty, which turns out to be a good thing for me.

As it turns out, it was a dead short somewhere in the wiring harness (actually more than one). The explanation made sense at the time, but I can't restate it here.

Dealers or Kubota will give you a nice little book on warranty to help clear up the confusion - it helps me and I get confused easily!

Warranty on B/L non industrial tractors is first two years or 1500 hours, the complete machine is covered. M series is two years or 2000 hours for full coverage.

Powertrain warranty means only those things that are fully enclosed within the housings / block casting are covered. Computers, pumps, control valves, all electrical, all external hydraulic valves - even if they control an internal function are not covered.

Powertrain coverage is 36 months or 2000 hours on B/L non industrial tractors and 36 months or 3000 hours on M series.

Now you know.......
