RTV 900 spark arrestor?

The RTV900 manual calls for CD, CE or CF. Mobil1 10W-30 meets CF. I know a lot of folks use 15W-40 but I've never seen that weight recommended for the 900 by Kubota.

From my Kubota manual:

Above 77F: 30, 10W-30 or 10W-40

32F TO 77F: 20, 10W-30 or 10W-40

Below 32F: 10W or 10W-30

The 10W-30 meets all temps so that's what I use.

It is CD / CF rated so has some diesel application. Check your owner's manual to see what is specified.

OOPS didn't see the above post ;)

OK, stupid question...But, do diesels actually generate sparks from the exhaust?

Why haven't we seen wheat fields burned due to tractor exhaust sparks?...Gas, I kinda, sorta, get it...But diesel?

I don't think MY BX has a spark arrestor...At least it's not in the manual..What up with that?

I went back and looked at some old posts and found this:

At the time the muffler wasn't certified as spark arresting - even though it says it was approved by the US Forrest Service - so the add on was done until such time as it was. Are they still using the add on arrestor? Do the mufflers on the new 900's still have the plug that needs to be removed every 100 hours to blow out the carbon?

My RTV 900 (purchased new 11/2009) doesn't have the drain plug. The arrestor is accessed by removing part of the back plate of the muffler. My manual is at my farm, but I think it says to clean the arrestor at 50 hrs, 100 hrs, and every 100 hours thereafter.
