I have a Cub Cadet/Yanmar SC2400 and a Jinma LW6 backhoe. Hoe did not come with its own pump. So after much reading found out I needed a PTO pump. Cub Cadet/Yanmar was no help on plumbing it to the tractor. So I bought a EZ-1567 pump from Splitez.com. After reading through the many threads it looks like I need a filter and a pressure relief valve. I think I have found filters at Tractor Supply and Northern tool. My question is pressure valve where is it placed in the hydraulics and what pressure and where do I get one?

Welcome to TBN:D

-Most valves have a PRV (pressure relief valve) built into them, are you sure yours does not?

-Does the 'hoe have a reservoir and if so how big is it?

-Is this a 3PH mounted unit, like no subframe that ties into the tractor frame? If so then you may void your warranty and possibly cause damage to your tractor.

-I believe the Jimna uses very odd metric hydraulic fittings, so adapting to standard hoses may be an issue.

Thanks for your response. I found out the warranty would be voided when I ask cub cadet where I could tie into the tractor pump. They offered no help. I can't find a PRV on the hoe. And I can find no mention of it in the hoe paperwork or the drawings. The tank is 16" by 9" and 7" deep and when I do an online conversion it equals 4 gal. It looks like Northern tool has several suitable PRV's. Is the PRV set for GPM? I think I can handle the fittings conversion with some research. I think the SC2450 (has hoe mounted) is a SC2400 with subframe

The 9-1556 PRV would be a good choice. What is the GPM rating of the pump? Ideally you want the tank size to equal the pump output-or at least close. That allows for the fluid to cool and any air bubbles to dissipate.

Shame on the warranty, doesn't scare you enough to stop trying to get this mounted?

Recommend Tank size should be one to two times the out put of the Hydraulic Pto Tractor pump. This comes from Splitez.com.

EZ-1567

INPUT HP- 8.8

GPM at 2000 psi - 7.2

$325.00

BH probably has a relief valve.

I found fittings, filter and had hoses made up at Custom Hydraulics & Design in Charlotte NC they too said the hoe should had PRV in the valve. I am looking again. The fittings that came with the hoe are NPT on one side so that worked out. Not to concerned about the warranty. Thanks for your input

Can you show a picture of the valve, especially the input side. It should be in that area.

Here is a picture of the joystick on my Case trencher BH. the relief valve is on the right in the input housing.

Some more data to add on to the situation. Since the PTO pump is only 2000 psi, the BH relief valve is probably set to maybe 2500 up to 3000 psi. If it is adjustable, you can adjust it down as the pump will probably never get that high.

Also since the pump is 7.2 GPM, you should get a larger tank, if the one you have figures out to 4 gal. Should be 1 to 2 times the pump GPM.

Thanks the PRV is on the input to th valve. The tank held 5 gallons. Can larger tanks be bought? Seems like a lot of weight hanging on the back of the tractor. I am going to pick up an old 8N and use it just for the hoe. Thanks again for your help.
