Reading other forums, I've learned that it might be the cable or connection from battery to ground (I've checked that by bypassing that cable...which didn't change anything.)
If you checked it by clamping a jumper cable on the terminals you haven't eliminated the post-to-cable connection. Agreed with others - start clean there.
